[Official Announcement: 2026 WRL World Final Schedule & Global League Outlook]
To all coffee roasting enthusiasts, competitors, and international partners:
The inaugural World Roasting League (WRL) World Final is coming to Taiwan!
1. 2026 World Final Official Schedule
To ensure all top competitors have sufficient time to familiarize themselves with the equipment and perform at their best, we have finalized the following timeline:
- May 31 (Sun): Official Mock Competition
(Machine testing, workflow rehearsal, and pre-match briefing) - June 1 (Mon): Official Roasting Competition
(Including Judge Calibration) - June 2 (Tue): Cupping Evaluation & Award Ceremony
Note:
May 29–30 are reserved for Paid Practice Sessions. Details regarding booking and machine rentals will be announced shortly.
2. International Judging Panel Regulations
We sincerely invite all participating countries to join the evaluation process to create a fair and transparent international exchange platform:
- Appointments: Each participating country may appoint 0 to 2 professional judges to represent them in Taiwan.
- Expenses: Travel expenses (flights, accommodation, etc.) are to be covered by the regional organizer or the individual judge.
- Vacancies: If a country does not appoint a judge, the host country of the year (Taiwan for 2026) will invite qualified judges to fill the remaining positions.
- Scoring Mechanism: The final will feature 2 competition beans. Each bean will be evaluated by 7 judges, totaling 14 judging slots. Scores will be aggregated to ensure objective and precise results.
3. 2027 WRL Global League & Hosting Opportunities
WRL’s mission is to promote roasting competitions globally and establish logical technical standards.
- League System: Starting from 2027 (the 2nd edition), WRL will adopt a League System. Partner organizations may collaborate with WRL using their own brands to expand influence together.
- Venue Hosting Application: If you are interested in becoming the Official Venue Host for the 2027 World Final, please let us know. We will provide selected venue partners with detailed brand licensing guidelines and an official event operation manual.
